Changes to Bybit’s Services for Indian Customers
This article provides an easy-to-read summary and insights based on the latest Bybit announcement.

In line with recent amendments to India’s taxation framework, Virtual Digital Asset Service Providers must now apply a 1% Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on all Virtual Digital Asset (VDA) transfers to Indian residents. As a renowned cryptocurrency trading platform, Bybit will be making changes to its services in compliance with this new regulation. The changes are set to be implemented from December 1, 2025, and will affect the following services:
- Spot Trading
- One Click Buy (Sell Only)
It’s crucial to note that the TDS will only be applied to crypto-to-crypto and crypto-to-fiat transactions. Therefore, any transactions from fiat-to-crypto will not be subject to the TDS. Users will be able to view the TDS charges under their transaction history alongside other transaction fees and GST deductions.
Bybit extends its appreciation to all its customers for their continued support and cooperation. The platform is committed to improving its processes to meet regulatory requirements and provide a safer, more compliant trading environment.

This upcoming change is a significant development for Bybit users in India and showcases the platform’s commitment to regulatory compliance. The implementation of the TDS on crypto transactions aligns with the government’s efforts to regulate the burgeoning cryptocurrency market, ensuring a safer and more structured environment for traders.
While this may slightly increase the cost of transactions on Bybit for Indian users, it also brings a level of transparency and legality to their cryptocurrency activities. It’s a reminder that even in the largely decentralized world of cryptocurrencies, local tax laws and regulations still apply. Traders need to stay informed about these changes and adjust their trading strategies accordingly.
